Hairul Azreen

Hairul Azreen bin Idris is one of the most popular Malaysian actors who have had a lot of success in his films. A renowned and established actor, he is also one of the top influencers in the country.

City boy with big dreams

Hairul was born in 1988 in Selangor. He has been active in the entertainment industry of Malaysia since 2008. To date, he has been known for some of the best works in horror films as well as having modeled too. Married to Hanis Zalikha in 2015, they both have 2 children, Yusuf Iskandar and Alisa Aisyah. Hairul is the second of 4 siblings. In his early years, he was active in Taekwondo where he represented his state Selangor at the Sukan Malaysia 2004.
He started out as a painter on the highways with KESAS before moving on to other types of work.

Venturing into acting

He would start in the acting industry with several local horror film productions. His first film was Rona Roni Makaroni where he acted alongside the likes of Dira Abu Zahar, Sharifah Sofia, Bront Palarae, Azma Aizal Yusoof and the very likeable Sharifah Amani. After that, he starred in the science-fiction drama Bio-Nik with Kamal Adli. It was a move forward for Hairul from then on where he continued with Ponti Anak Remaja and when the opportunity came for the big films, he took it with Scenario The Movie Ops Pocot by Ismail Bob Hashim.

He would receive very good reviews for his performance in Hantu Kapcai. In 2013 meanwhile, together with Dazrin Kamarudin, Hairul both came up tops in the Malaysian Fear Factor. Other notable projects that he got involved in include 5 Bujang series and Misiku Kuza, the medical drama which got very good response too.

Together with his wife Hanis Zalikha, they appeared in Hairul & Hanis Junior which was aired on Astro Ria as well as another program about their kids, Yusuf & Bujibu. He would then go on to act in Qhaliq and PASKAL which met with tremendous success. In 2021, he would try his hand in directing in his first film, Ada Hantu which was aired on streaming service Disney+ Hotstar.

Reaching out on social media

Hairul was previously involved with actress Faralyna Idris before their relationship ended in 2013. 2 years later, he married Hanis Zalikha where they have 2 kids together. On social media, Hairul has one of the most followers on his Instagram account with more than 5 million followers. He had previously won third place at the 2008’s Pencarian Kacak Bergaya. With his wife, the couple was also nominated in 2016 at the Anugerah MeleTOP Era for the Couple MeleTOP award.
