It is among the oldest and in most ways, the most important because it provides access between the Kuala Lumpur city center with almost all the other primary suburbs of Selangor like Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.
From Jalan 222, you will come in through the Federal Highway which will then lead you further into Section 14. This is where you will come towards the Tanah Perkuburan Islam MBPJ Kampung Tunku and the Gui Yuan Crematorium.
From there, you will be able to access into other prominent suburbs around Petaling Jaya like SS2, SEA PARK And SS3 while there will be access into Kelana Jaya as well.
On the other end meanwhile, you will be connected at the junction towards Jalan Templer, another important road that goes to the eastern end to the likes of Assunta Hospital and PJ State. This will then lead you towards Sunway and Subang Jaya.
Each day, the Federal Highway is used by thousands of vehicles. The peak hours start in early morning which can be as early as 6.30am. That is when the traffic on both sides of Federal Highway start to pile up. It then goes on until about 10.30am. At around 4.30pm, the traffic congestion will start to build up again which goes on until about 10.00pm.
The morning and evening rush hours are when traffic flow is at the heaviest. However, Federal Highway experiences traffic jams at other times too.
This makes the Federal Highway one of the most highly-sought locations for billboard advertising. In fact, it houses one of the most expensive billboard locations in the entire country. This is most prominent in front of Angkasapuri and Mid Valley Shopping Centre. Meanwhile, the billboards around Amcorp Mall are quite popular as well.
If you are travelling to the city centre, you will find several billboards as you approach Klang Bus Stand while there are some along the side of Robson Heights too. On the other end, the unipoles outside Menara TM have high visibility and are very impactful. A new and large LCD screen was recently enacted not far from here.
Connected to the original Federal Highway that connects Petaling Jaya with Kuala Lumpur, the FHR2 or Federal Highway Route 2 is a 16-kilometer stretch that starts around Shah Alam and terminates at Sungai Rasau in Klang. It is an extension of the Federal Highway that connects more than 7.3 million vehicles each year.

FHR2 is a very important route as it connects several prominent sub-urban towns and cities along the way. From Batu Tiga, it comes through from the Subang Jaya enclave where Subang Parade and the Empire Shopping Gallery is and then passes by the Shah Alam Stadium and the Batu Tiga Shah Alam Circuit before reaching the Klang township.

As part of the Federal Highway, FHR2 is mainly used by commuters who travel to and from work every day. As such, the morning rush hours will see super peak traffic conditions along the toll plazas and it is the opposite end during the evenings.
