Plus Highway North South Expressway Advertising

SALAK TINGGI ARRIVAL IMPACT 2

Malaysians use the PLUS Highway all the time to travel between states in Peninsular Malaysia. Known as the North-South Expressway, this long stretch serves all the states along the west coast that connects all the major towns and cities along the way.

One of the highlights about advertising along the North-South Expressway is that your ad will be seen by hundreds of thousands of vehicles each day. In fact, on festive seasons, your billboards are seen up to millions of vehicles.

As the name implies, it serves the entire western coastline of Peninsular Malaysia where it is known as the North-South Expressway.

This expressway provides a lot of access to vehicles travelling between the states here starting from the south at Johor Bahru and heads north along all the states until Bukit Kayu Hitam.

One can come in through the north and head towards Johor Bahru before heading out to Singapore through this highway.

The PLUS highway cuts through Kuala Lumpur for vehicles coming from both directions where it heads down to Seremban in Negri Sembilan and to the southern states of Melaka and Johor.

Why and how to advertise along North-South Expressway?

Take note though that it would be more viable to advertise on several locations as it can create repetition reminders for the viewers instead of placing your ad in one large billboards.

PLUS HIGHWAY – NORTH

The northern region of Peninsular Malaysia is served by the PLUS highway through the northern parts of Selangor, Perak, Penang and Kedah.

Available Advertising Medium’

Along the entire PLUS highway, the available advertising medium are billboards and overhead bridges. Where this is concerned, large format billboards are seen on both sides of the highway serving both directions. There are many billboards which are either free standing or enacted on Unipoles.

These billboards come in vertical and horizontal shapes. Meanwhile, there are billboard that are mounted on overhead bridges that are mainly found at the interchanges.

Traffic

The traffic flow along the northern parts of PLUS highway is mostly busy during weekends and mostly during public and school holidays.

Meanwhile, on normal days, the traffic flow ranges from low in the nights to medium during the day but are very constant.

It must be noted that the Ipoh stretch have very high traffic during the mornings and evenings as motorists are bypassing the town center to get between locations within the city.

Buying power

Advertising on the northern sections of PLUS highway range from medium to high.

This is because depending on which stretch the highway is on, there are certain billboards that provide very high ad-views while other not so popular parts have lower impressions.

It is very common for brand owners to engage a long-term booking for these billboards as they require very minimal maintenance or replacement.

PLUS HIGHWAY – SOUTH

Available Advertising Medium

The southern part of PLUS highway serves the southern region of Selangor that includes Puchong, Seri Kembangan and Kajang before going into Negri Sembilan where it serves Seremban and Nilai.

It then goes towards Melaka before heading into Johor. Through this stretch, the main advertising medium is billboards and overhead bridge billboards.

As with most major highways, freestanding and large format billboards are found on both sides serving vehicles on both directions.

Along most interchanges, flyover and overhead bridge billboards are used. Meanwhile, there are Giant Gantry Billboards located along the way where there is one at the Serdang intersection.

Traffic

The traffic flow in the southern part of PLUS highway is known to be higher as compared to the northern parts.

This is because vehicles are heading in and out of Kuala Lumpur while the Seremban stretch is known to be among the highest. On top of that, the Melaka interchange has extremely high traffic especially during peak seasons like the public and school holidays.

Buying Power

The availability of ad spaces along the southern part of PLUS highway is very limited due to the higher demand by advertisers.

Hence, buying power for these spaces range from medium to high where advertisers and brand owners usually need to book for a longer period of time.
