Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra is a primary access road that connects the people around Kelantan with the capital at Kota Bahru. It starts from the middle of the city centre and continues towards several suburbs around the southern and eastern parts of the state.
Landmarks and Subroads
This road starts from the Jalan Kuala Kerai-Jalan Hamzah interchange. This is where the Masterskill College is located together with Tune Hotels and KB Mall which are not far.
After the roundabout, you will reach the Terminal Bas Langgar SKMK before reaching Sekolah Kebangsaan Langgar. Then, you will reach the Jalan Long Yunus junction which will lead you to Jalan Telipot. After that, you will reach the Jalan Pasir Hor junction, Sekolah Kubang Kerian 1 and then on to Jalan Raja Perempuan Zainab 1 cross-junction which will take you further south of the state.
Demographics
The largest group of people travelling along Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra are mostly working adults and white collar executives. Besides that, school children use this road to commute from home to school each day.
Traffic Conditions
The stretch after the Jalan Pasir Hor junction will usually experience peak traffic flow with super peak during rush hours. At the Kubang Kerian vicinity, traffic flow is moderate to peak and this usually continues until the Kota Bahru Medical Centre.
