Born in December 1988, Aeril Zafrel comes from Batu Pahat, Johor. His real name is Suhairil bin Sunari where he is a popular actor and influencer in Malaysia. As an individual in the public eye, Aeril has gone through many ups and downs throughout his career. Unlike many others who have it easy in the entertainment industry, he has endured controversies and hardships before reaching the heights of his career that he enjoys today.
Moving up the ranks in acting
Aeril Zafrel is married to Wawa Zainal where he has been actively involved in the entertainment industry since 2006. To date, he has acted, produced and directed many shows that have captivated its audience from across the country. He came into the scene through the late Allahyarham Khairil Khamis who was an iconic actor and singer in the 1980s who brought him out through Permata Hati Mama. Khairil also introduced Aeril to Aziz M Osman and Noralizah Lee who are big names in the Malaysian entertainment industry themselves. Together they would cast Aeril into the TV series Kisah Kaisara in 2007.
Continuing his move into the entertainment industry and other platforms
The first few years for Aeril were not entirely kind where he was often given below-par reviews for her performances. This however did not dampen his spirit as he continued to work hard. He would then form a group called CanDo Sahaja where he went with the stage name Farel. This would be his venture into singing but tragedy happened when the project was canceled due to some controversial news. Aeril changed his stage name a few times to try and put all that behind him. He would finally get his big break after his excellent performance in Senja Permai with Elfira Loy.
There was no looking back for Aeril after that where he would go on to act in Apokalips and Aku Tak Bodoh where he would work alongside some of the biggest stars in Malaysian films like Farid Kamil and Adibah Noor, among others. In TV series Durja Ningsun, he would then take up the main starting role.
His youthful looks then got him into KLIK and in 2012 got the main role in Cinta Kura-Kura from KRU Studios. That was the year he was in films like Budak Pailang and 7 Petala Cinta. His biggest break came when he acted alongside Sharon Stone and Susan Sarandon in the Hollywood movie Mothers’ Day. His role in the 2013 Cinta Jannah ensued where he would act along Nelyida Senrose,
Since then, Aeril continued to move up the ranks to become one of the most popular actors in Malaysia. He has charted his name to become one of the most capable and popular actors in the country. Exuding the modern Malaysian man, he models and continues to provide a viable option for directors and producers to churn out high-quality films and shows. He is also active on social media where on Instagram meanwhile, he has more than 5.2 million followers, putting him among the most followed celebrities around.
