Bukit Bintang is Kuala Lumpur’s premier shopping, entertainment and nightlife district within the Golden Triangle. It includes Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Alor, Changkat Bukit Bintang, Jalan Imbi and surrounding mall streets, with strong tourist, retail, hotel, F&B and nightlife activity.
Jalan Bukit Bintang is one of the major roads in the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur. It comes in from the east through Jalan Tun Razak, another major road and continues towards the west before terminating at the Jalan Pudu interchange. It is considered as the main road in the Klang Valley because of its strategic location which houses the few major shopping malls here.
Jalan Bukit Bintang is used by thousands of motorists each day to travel to and from work and leisure. The traffic flow here is extremely heavy during the morning and evening rush hours as hundreds of thousands of people come here for work while it is usually very heavy during the weekends especially from shoppers.
Vehicles come into Jalan Bukit Bintang via Jalan Tun Razak which comes in from the southern and northern parts of Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, in the wesern area of Jalan Bukit Bintang, vehicles will flow out toward Jalan Pudu.
The most significant landmarks of Jalan Bukit Bintang would be its shopping centres. Coming in through Jalan Tun Razak, you will approach Pavilion Shopping Centre right after the Jalan Imbi interchange. From there, you will be at Starhill Gallery on the opposite side. Located next to Starhill is Fahrenheit 88 which is next to Lot 10 Shopping Centre.
The former Bukit Bintang Plaza is located on the opposite end at the cross-junction with Bukit Bintang McDonalds’ known as the busiest crossroads in Kuala Lumpur. Low Yat Plaza, the top gadget and IT mall is located at the end of Jalan Bukit Bintang as well.
Meanwhile, there is the JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur next to Starhill which is next to The Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Other prominent landmarks here include the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, the Wisma Kebudayaan SGM (Soka-Gakkai Malaysia) and the very popular Oriental Noble Banquet is further in front while Chulan Square is along here that houses several international dining outlets.
As a very short stretch, travelling from one end to the other of Jalan Bukit Bintang can be quite fast. However, due to the fact that Jalan Bukit Bintang houses some of the top and most popular shopping centres in Kuala Lumpur, it can take longer than expected. From Jalan Raja Chulan, you will experience super peak traffic conditions throughout the day.
Even during the night, most parts of Jalan Bukit Bintang experiences super peak and peak traffic flow. The morning and evening rush hours are when you experience the slowest traffic flow while it can be moderate during week nights. On weekends however, traffic condition here is peak mostly during the day as people are coming in from different parts of the city like Jalan Pudu and Jalan Tun Razak for shopping and entertainment at the major outlets here.
Jalan Bukit Bintang is perhaps the most significant roads in the whole Malaysia. Known as the shopping haven of the country, Jalan Bukit Bintang is home to many shopping malls, banks and commercial shops. Here is where there are thousands of tourists from all over the world come to shop and enjoy the entertainment options here.
makes it an ideal choice for advertising on lamp posts. This is because traffic here is usually at a standstill throughout the day and can be more serious during the rush hours. Vehicles are constantly seen crawling along Jalan Bukit Bintang trying to get into the shopping malls like BB Plaza, Lot 10, Pavilion Shopping Center and to IT mall Low Yat Plaza.
Apart from that, there are banks and many other commercial retail lots where great food can be found. Here is where many tourists come here to shop, enjoy the local food while locals come here for leisure and business. There are several hotels here like the Royale Bintang, Federal hotel as well as countless budget inns.
On both sides of Jalan Bukit Bintang, there are about 40 lamp posts where advertising panels can be enacted. Advertising on these panels would be highly effective as there are practically hundreds of people on foot each day, enjoying the sights and sounds of Jalan Bukit Bintang and the attractions it has to offer. Apart from that, cars and trucks that are in the traffic jam will be exposed to the panels as well.
