Jalan Sultan Ismail’s most notable landmarks would surely be its shopping malls and international hotel chains.
From the Jalan Kampung Pandan-Jalan Imbi interchange, it starts with Parkroyal Hotel which is located next to the Lot 10 Shopping Centre.
Directly opposite from here is the very famous Sungei Wang Plaza.Jalan Sultan Ismail then continues further up north where it will reach Hotal Istana which has an entrance facing Jalan Raja Chulan as well.
From there, it heads up to Shangri-La Hotel on the left while Concorde Hotel is on the right. It is here that you will reach the Jalan Pinang-Jalan Kia Peng area which is known for its entertainment and where the Petronas Twin Towers is located.
The Sheraton Imperial Hotel is located further away which is next to Heritage Row where there is a row of pubs and clubs.
Along Jalan Raja Chulan are KL Monorail stations like Bukit Bintang and Raja Chulan. Not far from Sheraton is Medan Tuanku while Maju Junction Shopping Centre is located here not far from the infamous Chow Kit market.
This road then terminates further to the west where it then convenes with Jalan Kuching.
If you are coming in from the south, then you will experience a constant traffic crawl throughout the day.
This is where Jalan Sultan Ismail starts at the Parkroyal Hotel and Lot 10 Shopping Centre vicinity.
Basically, the traffic here is super peak throughout the day which is more common during the weekends as it is the main shopping district of Kuala Lumpur.
From there, as you move northwards, you will come towards the Hotel Istana-Wisma Genting intersection in which traffic is peak particularly during the morning and evening rush hours as vehicles are traveling from Jalan Raja Chulan out of the city.
The traffic flow will then be smoother from here until Shangri-La Hotel in front of Concorde Hotel where it becomes super peak again until Maju Junction and then out of the city through Jalan Kuching.
