Jalan Universiti is one of the main roads located in Petaling Jaya. It is located at the border between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya in which it is used by those coming into this city and those who are leaving to other areas.
This stretch is quite long where it starts from the turn in from the Federal Highway and the Jalan Gasing interchange all the way until the Rothman’s roundabout.
Its name was derived from Universiti Malaya, the oldest and most prestigious public university here which operates on the Kuala Lumpur-Selangor border.
Apart from UM, Jalan Universiti houses the University Hospital as well as the MAHSA University College.
This road is very important to the residences that use it to travel to other parts of Klang Valley.
They can head out toward Kuala Lumpur via the Federal Highway or use the Jalan Gasing interchange that connects to places like PJ Old Town, Old Klang Road or to other suburbs.
Meanwhile, on the other end, Jalan Universiti channels the traffic into the heart of Petaling Jaya like SS2, SS3 as well as to SS17, among many others.
This stretch is quite long where it is usually very congested during the rush hours.
The first part of the road between the Federal Highway and the KFC junction has more than 50 lamp posts on both side and the centre while the second part has almost equal number of lamp posts that continues on until Lisa De Inn which can be clearly seen by the crawling traffic here each day.
