Prominent roads include Jalan Tun Razak, SMART access, Jalan Sultan Ismail links, Jalan Bukit Bintang connectors and TRX internal roads.

Landmarks

TRX is being positioned not just as a business district, but as a world-class, sustainable, and integrated urban destination. The presence of The Exchange TRX mall, the rooftop City Park, and its connectivity make it a social and lifestyle anchor in addition to a financial hub.

Population data

While TRX is primarily a financial and mixed-use district (rather than a dense residential area), the development includes residential units (planned) and is expected to support a vibrant daytime and evening population with its mix of offices, hotels, and retail. The MRT station reportedly sees over a million riders per month, and daily footfalls in TRX are boosted by commuters and visitors alike.

Traffic Flow & Movement

Morning Office Traffic Around TRX

TRX traffic starts building early because the area sits right inside Kuala Lumpur’s busiest business belt. Morning movement comes from office workers heading into Tun Razak Exchange, Jalan Tun Razak, Bukit Bintang, Imbi, Jalan Sultan Ismail and nearby city offices. Cars, motorcycles, taxis, ride-hailing vehicles and delivery riders all compete for space, especially near drop-off points and office entrances. The traffic is not only from people working inside TRX itself; many drivers use the surrounding roads to cut across the city. On weekdays, the area can feel sharp, fast and very work-driven.

Lunch Hour And Midday Movement

By late morning and lunch hour, TRX traffic changes from pure commuting to a mix of office errands, mall visitors, food delivery, business meetings and short city trips. The Exchange TRX adds a strong retail and dining pull, so vehicles move in and out for shopping, lunch appointments, hotel visits and office meetups. Midday congestion is usually less intense than the morning peak, but it can still feel busy around parking entries, ride-hailing pickup points and nearby junctions. The area also attracts people from Bukit Bintang, KLCC, Kampung Pandan and Jalan Imbi, so movement stays active even between peak hours.

Evening Peak And After-Work Flow

Evening traffic around TRX can be heavier and more unpredictable because office workers, shoppers, diners and city commuters all leave or arrive around the same window. Jalan Tun Razak, SMART access, Jalan Sultan Ismail links and Bukit Bintang-side routes can slow down quickly, especially when rain, events or mall crowds are added into the mix. Many people are heading home toward Cheras, Ampang, PJ, Bangsar, Setapak or the wider Klang Valley, while others are arriving for dinner or shopping. This makes TRX a strong visibility area, because vehicles often spend more time crawling through the corridor.

Night Traffic, Dining And Weekend Crowds

At night, TRX becomes less office-heavy and more lifestyle-focused. The traffic comes from diners, mall visitors, hotel guests, tourists, ride-hailing users and people moving between Bukit Bintang, KLCC, Jalan Imbi and the city centre. Weekend traffic can be very different from weekday traffic: less corporate, but still busy because of shopping, restaurants, events and leisure trips. The area is also close to major nightlife and hotel zones, so traffic can continue later than a normal office district. For visibility, TRX works well because it catches both serious weekday business traffic and a more relaxed night or weekend city crowd.

Market Profile

The Exchange TRX is the retail core of TRX. According to master-planning sources, it accounts for about 2 million square feet of gross floor area. This is a substantial lifestyle mall, offering over 400 stores (retail, dining, entertainment), according to some reports.

Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) is a 70-acre (about 28 hectare) master-planned development in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It’s positioned at the intersection of Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Sultan Ismail, bounding neighbourhoods including Bukit Bintang, Imbi, Pudu, and Kampung Pandan. Across Jalan Tun Razak lies landmarks like the Royal Selangor Golf Club.

One of TRX’s defining features is its 10-acre rooftop public park, the TRX City Park, built over the mall. The park provides ample green space and places for gathering, play, and events. Adjacent to the mall is The Exchange 106, a super-tall office tower, which is among Southeast Asia’s highest skyscrapers.
