Emma Maembong is a Malaysian influencer who has had a lot of success as an actress and model. Her full name is Fatimah Rohani binti Ismail and she was born in 1992 in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. Emma has been actively
involved in acting since 2012.
Starting out and carving a name in showbiz
Emma and Muhammad Shazli Azhar got married in 2020 where they have a child together. Her stage name, Emma Maembong is actually combined from the names of her father, Ismail Embong. She is the ninth from 11 siblings. Her father is of Malay descent while her mother is of Scottish decent. She has chosen to stay with her father since their divorce. Ismail Embong is an established and renowned Malaysian artist who often has his works on show at the Galeri Seni Maembong. Coming from a family in the arts, Emma’s siblings Chacha and Yaya are actors as well.
Emma attended formal school until Form 2 and has often been criticized for not finishing her high school. She has noted that it was her decision to do so to take care of the home as she had a sibling who could not walk.

Emma has a portfolio which is rich and commendable. Among some of the works she has been involved in include the Erma Fatima’s Facebook Ustazah Shamsiah and Kau Yang Terindah. The latter sprung Emma into the limelight with mixed reviews. The negative comments spurred her on to work harder and improve. She then got her big break through Usop Wilcha Dalam Werewolf Dari Bangladesh, a horror-comedy by MAmat Khalid and Tersuka Tanpa Sengaja, a novel adaptation film. She would then work with Aiman Hakim Ridza in the film Projek Memikat Suami and Isteri Separuh Masa which were aired on Astro Ria and then on Kimchi Untuk Awak which shot in South Korea.

Emma was once rumored to be in a relationship with high profile actors such as Zizan Razak. She married pilot Muhammad Shazli Azhar in February 2020 and their son was born in November that year. With more than 5 million followers on her Instagram account, she is considered to be among the top influencers in the country. Over the years, Emma has also been recognized for her work in the entertainment industry. In 2012, she was nominated for the Artis Baru Wanita Paling Popular at the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian.
She was also in the running for the 100 Wajah Tercantik TC Chandler where she was in 71 place. That same year saw her win the Selebriti Harapan Pilihan a the Anugerah Stail EH!. Meanwhile, in 2017 she was nominated for Aktres Pilihan at the Anugerah Drama Festival Kuala Lumpur 2017 for her role in Nasi Minyak Kuah Cinta as well as winning the Ratu Telenovela at the 2017 Anugerah Telenoveva that year. The next year, she took home the Pelakon Filem Wanita Popular at the 2018 Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian ke-31, among many others.
