Special Purpose Vehicles
Scomi Special Vehicle (SSV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Scomi Engineering Bhd, is a diversified road transportation engineering company manufacturing a wide range of quality special purpose vehicles under the brand name KING’S.
Scomi Special Vehicle, incorporated in Malaysia in August 1990, is a trusted supplier, manufacturer and fabricator of road transport equipment, known for its high quality, sophistication, reliability and cost effectiveness. SSV provides consultation, design services, problem solving assistance and technical support required by our clients. We also provide operation and trouble-shooting training, maintenance, repairs and overhauling as part of our value added services.
Besides our main product portfolio, we also provide assembly services to produce various other special purpose vehicles to service diverse industries. To name a few, we have assembled and tested catch basin cleaners deployed in waste disposal in a manufacturing environment; road sweepers deployed in municipalities and airports; and ambulances for health ministry.
In 1995 SSV successfully obtained its first prestigious ISO 9002 certification and in 2003, obtained its ISO 9001:2000 for design and fabrication of road tankers, truck mounted equipment and pressure vessel proving its commitment to quality.
SSV, which is reputable and established in the local market, also has international recognition through its export over the years to countries such as Singapore, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Maldives, Seychelles, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Yemen. Offshore Support Services
Scomi Energy Services’ highly skilled team of professionals have provided services to most major offshore oil and gas areas in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Middle East. Our offshore support services division provides vessels to the oil and gas industry to support operations such as:
Anchor Handlings, Positioning and Mooring of Drilling Rigs
We assist in towing, setting up and mooring of FPSO/FSO platforms to oil well locations. We position the anchors of the platforms, at the drilling location of oil production.
Towing of Rigs
We tow and moor rigs offshore to the exact locations based on the given coordinates. We assist in the demobilisation of rigs after completion of drilling operations and towing the rigs.
Transportation of Fuel, Drilling Fluids, Cement, Drilling Pipes and others
We transport bulk cargo which are required for the drilling operations and deck cargo such as pipes, equipment and spares. We also transport personnel between platforms by providing two-way transportation between shores and rigs during crew changes. Other necessities such as food, beverages and grocery supplies are transported by our vessels as well.
Offshore Accommodation Facilities
We provide accommodation/work-over barges that have special features to meet the requirements of specific jobs. Their special features include rooms, large deck spaces, high electrical generating capacities, slow controlled speed and varied propulsion thruster configurations; extra berthing facilities and long range capabilities.
Fire Fighting
We provide vessels and crew for standby duties such as fire fighting duties, anti-pollution and prevention measures to react to oil slicks and offshore fires, search and rescue operation when required.
Marine Logistics Services
Marine logistics services offered by Scomi Energy Services provide coal transportation and third party logistics services to the energy industry. We have over 30 years of experience in the business.
We offer tugs and barges to transport coal for major coal producers in the Asia-Pacific region. We also provide comprehensive solution to our clients’ needs and offer management expertise of third party vessels when requested.
