Traffic Flow & Movement

From the west, Jalan Kelang Lama experiences super peak traffic flow at the Kontena Nasional area before it becomes moderate and then peaks at the Desa Mentari area. After that, traffic flow becomes moderate and sometimes low congestion until Plaza Prima where it is peak at the intersection. At the Jalan Puchong, intersection, traffic flow is at peak level most times of the day because there are always a lot of vehicles traveling into the city via Jalan Kelang Lama. It then eases up until Scott’s Garden where it is super peak during the rush hours and peak during other times. From there, it is moderate until the Taman Desa intersection due to the traffic lights there. From there, the traffic flow is moderate all the way until it reaches MidValley MegaMall but is usually peak during the weekends.

Old Klang Road, or Jalan Klang Lama, is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most established and constantly moving corridors. It connects KL south, Mid Valley, Kuchai Lama, Taman Desa, OUG, PJ-side routes and the route toward Klang. Traffic is heavy during peak hours, but the road also stays active for food, errands, schools, offices, condos and older neighbourhoods. It has a very mixed audience: families, professionals, workers, students, retirees, delivery riders and business owners. The corridor is busy, sometimes messy, but commercially very alive.
