Jalan Putra is located in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur. It is not a very long stretch as compared to other streets in the Klang Valley but is one of the busiest as Jalan Putra is home to a few very significant buildings here.
Located just off the Chow Kit commercial area and easily accessible through Jalan Kuching, Jalan Putra is connected to some of the most prestigious residential areas of the country.This road is a two-way traffic flow in which vehicles come in through Jalan Kuching and into Chow Kit while those who are heading out to places like Damansara, Segambut and Kepong comes through the opposite direction.The most significant landmark here is the Putra World Trade Centre which is part of the Menara Umno building, home to the largest political party in Malaysia.The PWTC hosts international and regional events, trade fairs and exhibitions throughout the year which brings thousands of visitors to the premises.
On the other side of the road is the Sunway Putra Hotel, formerly known as Legend Hotel while from here, one can head out to Bukit Tunku, more fondly known as Kenny Hill, which is often regarded as the Beverly Hills of Kuala Lumpur.Jalan Putra is always congested with traffic where there is constant flow of vehicles on both sides while there are a lot of tourists and visitors who go around on foot as they visit PWTC and the shopping center here.
