Jalan Semarak might not strike much resemblance when it comes to streets in the Kuala Lumpur city centre.
However, this road is known to be one of the busiest here by virtue of its location and the fact that it is accessible by many main roads surrounding it.
It is an important access road that allows commuters to get from both ends of Kuala Lumpur, providing the access to the many commercial areas around here.
Jalan Semarak is located at the central location of Kuala Lumpur where it comes in from the northern areas through Jalan Batu.
This street is connected to the DUKE (Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway) through an interchange which brings one towards the eastern and western regions of the city.
From there, it comes down to the south where it passes by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment before joining up with Jalan Tun Razak.
This will then channel vehicles towards another major highway, the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH) in which vehicles can head out to places like Cheras and Sri Petaling.
The layout of Jalan Semarak is quite straightforward where it is a two-way traffic road. Lamp posts are mounted on both sides of the road while some are installed at the middle parts.
